Privacy
HouseStory is a home maintenance and inventory app developed by Mercury Project s.r.o. This page describes HouseStory version 1.0.
Records you add
HouseStory stores your properties, maintenance tasks, service records, equipment, tools, supplies, contacts, costs and attachments on your device. These records may include personal information you choose to enter, such as an address, a contractor’s contact details, receipts or a contract.
iCloud synchronization
When available and enabled, HouseStory uses Apple’s CloudKit and iCloud key-value storage to synchronize your records and selected preferences through your Apple Account. Records use your private iCloud database. HouseStory does not require a separate developer-operated account or upload your home records to a Mercury Project application server.
Photos, files and camera
You can choose photos and import files to attach to your records. The barcode-scanning feature uses the camera when you choose to scan. Imported copies become part of the records stored by the app and may be included in iCloud sync and exported backups.
Reminders
HouseStory requests notification permission to show maintenance and warranty reminders. These notifications are scheduled on your device. You can control reminders in HouseStory and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
Backups and sharing
When you export a backup, the resulting file may contain all your HouseStory records and attachments. You choose where to save it or whom to share it with. Protect that file as you would the original documents. Storage or sharing services you choose handle the file under their own policies.
House Book exports
You can create a PDF summary of a property’s care plan, equipment and service history. Private details such as costs, notes, photos, addresses, serial numbers and contractor contact information are optional and off by default. Review the preview before saving or sharing the document.
HouseStory Pro purchases
Apple processes HouseStory Pro purchases through the App Store. HouseStory uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to check verified purchase status, unlock Pro and restore previous purchases. The app may keep the last known entitlement on your device so access can continue offline. Mercury Project does not receive your payment card details. Apple handles App Store transactions under its own privacy policy.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send and use them to respond to your request. Please send only the information needed to resolve the issue.
This website
These pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising scripts, forms or third-party fonts. When hosted on our company website, its hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses and server logs, to deliver and operate the site.
Managing your records
You can edit or delete records in the app. When sync is active, changes can propagate to your other devices. Removing the app from one device does not necessarily remove its iCloud copy or backups you previously exported. Manage iCloud app storage in your Apple Account settings and separately delete exported files you no longer need.
